Consular Services

1. Police Clearance Certificate:              Fee: UGX 100,000

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR APPLYING PCC:

1.     For the purpose of Work Permit in Uganda/Burundi, a Request Letter from the company addressed to the High Commission of India, Kampala, mentioning name (s) of the people whose PCC is required and stating the details of the people for whom PCC is required. In case of individuals applying for the purposes other than Work Permit in Uganda, they need to bring a Request Letter addressed to the High Commission of India, Kampala, specifying purpose for which PCC is needed attaching relevant docs and duly signed in by them.

2.     Along with the Request Letter addressed to this High Commission, copy of their respective valid Passport (s) (front, back and visa page) and Certificate of Incorporation of the Company (if applying for Work Permit) and if a person has joined the Company for the first time or he is on a Visitor Visa then attach the copy of his Appointment Letter duly stamped and signed. If applying for PCC for other purposes than the Work Permit, then, the relevant docs are required to specify/justifying the purpose.

3.     Print out of duly filled-in/signed-in Form submitted on the website: https://portal6.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html External website that opens in a new window, with one Photograph and original Passport of the applicant.


2. Attestation of signature on affidavits:             Fee: UGX  80,000

Please note that the person signing the affidavit is required to sign the affidavit in the presence of the Consular Officer of the High Commission.
 
Documents required: 

  • Filled-in E.A. (P)-2 form with one passport size photograph pasted on it
  • Original affidavit(s) to be attested with one copy of each document
  • Original passport and one photocopy of the passport (front and back cover) showing personal particulars & residence permit

 
3. Attestation of signature on affidavit to obtain passport for a minor child residing in India:                                                                     Fee: UGX.45,000

Please note that the parent signing the affidavit is required to sign the affidavit in the presence of the Consular Officer of the High Commission.
 
Documents required: 

  • Filled-in E.A.(P)-2 form with one passport size photograph pasted on it
  • Original signed affidavit (form available below) to be attested with one copy of  the document,
  • Parent’s original passport and one photocopy (front and back covers) showing personal particulars & residence permit

 
4. Attestation of signature on Power of Attorney:        Fee: UGX.80,000

Please note that the person signing the Power of Attorney (POA) is required to sign the affidavit in the presence of the Consular Officer of the High Commission.  

Documents required:

  •  Filled-in E.A.(P)-2 form with one passport size photograph pasted on it
  • Original Power of Attorney to be attested with a copy,
  • Original passport and one photocopy of passport (front and back covers) showing personal particulars & residence permit

 

5. Death registration:                                       No charge

Documents required:   

  • EA(P)-2 form with one passport size photograph of the person informing about the death pasted on it
  • Original passport of the deceased
  • Death certificate/ post mortem report from the hospital indicating cause of death. The documents have to be in English only. In case the documents are issued in French, they need to be translated in English and certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • Police report in case of an unnatural death
  • Embalming Certificate issued by Kampala City Council Authority or the relevant authorities in Rwanda and Burundi, in case the body of the deceased has to be carried to India
  • Original passport and one photocopy of passport (front and back covers) of the person informing about the death showing personal particulars & residence permit

 

6. Renunciation of Indian citizenship certificate:        Fee: UGX 390,000/-
(payable in UG Shillings at official rate of exchange on the date of application)

Documents required:     

  • Letter from the local Government requesting for such a certificate
  • Form XVII duly authenticated by a person holding an Indian passport
  • Original Indian passport
  • Current passport in original and a photocopy showing personal particulars.

 

7. Attestation of signature on documents originating in India: (ex. Copies of passport, PIO/OCI card etc.)                                      Fee: UGX.45,000

Documents required:      

  • Original document to be attested/authenticated
  • E.A.(P)-2 form with one passport size photograph pasted on it
  • Original affidavit to be attested with one copy of  document
  • Original passport and one photocopy (front and back covers) showing details of personal particulars & residence permit

 

8.  Attestation/Authentication of documents originating in India (Eg. School/College/ University certificates, salary certificates etc)    Fee: UGX.45,000 (for each document/page to be attested/ authenticated)
 
Documents required:

  • E.A.(P)-2 form with one passport size photograph pasted on it
  • Original affidavit to be attested with one copy of  document
  • Original passport and one photocopy (front and back covers) showing details of personal particulars & residence permit

 
9.  Attestation/Authentication of documents originating in Uganda/Rwanda/Burundi:         
Fee: UGX 45,000 (for each document/page to be attested/authenticated)

Documents required:    

  • Original document attested/authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Uganda/Rwanda/Burundi.  
  • E.A.(P)-2 form with one passport size photograph pasted on it,
  • Original affidavit to be attested with one copy of  document ,
  • Original passport and one photocopy (front and back covers) showing personal particulars & residence permit

 
10. Registration of Birth of Indian Children Born In Uganda/Rwanda/Burundi:
Birth of an Indian child outside India needs to be registered with the High Commission within one year. Generally, the registration of birth is done at the time of applying for an Indian passport for the child. Kindly see the procedure under ‘New Passport”.
