    On the occasion of the 78th Independence Day of India, High Commissioner Shri Manish hoisted the National flag at the High Commission complex. He read out the address of the Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu to the Nation on the eve of Independence Day. This was followed by a brief cultural programme. The event was graced by the presence of members of the Indian diaspora and friends of India, all gathered in celebration of this significant milestone in the nation's history.

    High Commissioner Mr. Manish had a productive meeting with President of Larnaca Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Dr. Nakis Antoniou and other members of the Chamber. They discussed enhancing trade relations, promoting investment opportunities, and exploring joint initiatives in digital technology, education, workforce development, tourism, research, innovation, and the hotel industry. High Commissioner and Dr. Antoniou emphasized the importance of deepening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between the business communities of Larnaca and India.

This meeting underscores the commitment of both sides to deepen ties and explore new avenues for collaboration.

    The Cyprus India Cultural Association celebrated its 8th anniversary and welcomed India's High Commissioner, Mr. Manish, at an event with dignitaries including Nicosia's Mayor Charalambos Prountzos. High Commissioner Manish emphasized the strong friendship and potential for deeper collaboration between India and Cyprus in various key sectors of development and partnership and commitment to working closely with local leaders to achieve mutual goals for both nations' benefit.

    High Commissioner, Mr. Manish met with the Mayor of Nicosia, Mr. Charalambos Prountzos. The discussion focused on a range of issues for bilateral mutual cooperation based on the priorities of the city of Nicosia in areas such as renewable energy, smart city development, cultural and people-to-people connections, innovation, and sister city partnerships.High Commissioner congratulated the Mayor on assuming his role and conveyed his willingness to work with him for mutual benefit.

    High Commissioner Mr. Manish met with Mr. Nicholas Papadopoulos, President of the Democratic Party. Both sides discussed key issues of mutual interest, including the current state of bilateral relations and strategies to advance them; Regional and international matters were also on the agenda.

    High Commissioner Mr. Manish along with Professor A.K Dubey from the University of Delhi visited the University of Cyprus campus and engaged in discussions with their international relations team. The University of Cyprus shared insights about their academic programs and partnerships with Indian institutions. High Commissioner highlighted the new Education Policy 2020. Opportunities for collaboration within Indian Universities were discussed, including joint research, dual degrees and twinning programs. High Commissioner encouraged structured engagement with Indian institution and to enhance student and faculty mobility.

    High Commissioner Mr. Manish met with Mr. Kyriacos Iacovides, Managing Editor of Cyprus Mail. They discussed possible areas of enhancing bilateral engagement between India and Cyprus and emphasized the importance of deepening our ties further! . Mr. Iacovides briefed High Commissioner on the legacy and values of Cyprus Mail. They also explored specific areas for collaboration, focusing on strengthening people-to-people connections and promoting cultural exchanges.
