Commemoration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi   & UN International Day of Non-Violence (28 September to 3rd October 2020)

The High Commission of India, Nicosia will be commemorating the Grand  Finale of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi with the following   events:

  • Inauguration of Photo Exhibition on "Life of Mahatma Gandhi", by H.E. Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, Minister of Foreign Affairs at Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 28 September (Monday), 2020 at 1030 hrs.
  • Tree Plantation at Eleftheria Liberty Monument, Nicosia in association with Nicosia Municipality on 28 September (Monday), 2020 at 1230 hrs.
  • Tree Plantation, Blue Beret Camp, United Nations Peace Keeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP ) Headquarters, Nicosiaon 29 September (Tuesday) at 0900 hrs.
  • Webinar and Digital Photo Exhibition on "Life of Mahatma Gandhi", at M106 (University of Nicosia Millennium Building, 1st Floor) University of Nicosiaon 29 September (Tuesday) at 1100 hrs.
  •  “Cleanliness Drive &Shramdaan”(one of the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi) at Ledra Street, Nicosia in association with Nicosia Municipality on30 September (Wednesday), 1130 hrs.
  • Webinar and Digital Photo Exhibition on "Life of Mahatma Gandhi", at Amphitheatre B108, University House Building "Anastasios G. Leventis", University of Cyprus on 30 September (Wednesday) at 1800 hrs.
  • Digital Projection of Mahatma Gandhi on building of the Town Hall of Nicosia on 2 October, 2020 (Night).
  • Digital Projection of Mahatma Gandhi on building of the House of Representatives of Cyprus on 2&3 October, 2020 (Nights).
  • Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations, Floral Tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Bust of Mahatma Gandhi, Next to Parliament on 2 October, 2020 at 0900 hrs.H.E. Mr. Demetris Syllouris, President of the House of Representatives, Cyprus will be the Chief Guest.
