PM CARES Fund

To combat the ongoing crisis of COVID-19, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India has created a public charitable trust under the name ‘Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund’ (PM CARES Fund) on 28th March 2020. The Prime Minister is the Chairman of this trust with Defence Minister, Home Minister and Finance Minister as its members. This Fund enables the individuals and organizations to contribute even the smallest of the denominations to support the efforts of the Government of India to contain the spread of COVID-19.

2.       The rapid spread of pandemic of COVID-19 is posing a serious threat to the health and economic security of the people worldwide including India. Therefore, ensuring emergency medical services and an effective community resilience is the need of the hour. To deal with any kind of catastrophic or desolated situation, likely to be caused by this pandemic of COVID-19, the PM CARES Fund has been set up to help and provide support to the affected people and to ensure continued supply of essentials.
