Presidential award of Certificate of Honour

Ministry of Human Resources Development, Department of Higher Education, Govt of India has introduced a Scheme for the award of the Certificates of Honour to scholars in the field of languages of Sanskrit, Pali, Prakrit, Arabic, Persian, Classical Oriya, Classical Kannada, Classical Kannada, Classical Telgu and Classical Malayalam.

Under the scheme, Certificates of Honour , a shawl and one time monetary grant of Rs. 5 lakhs/- each is awarded to Scholars of eminence with over 60 years of age with outstanding contribution in the field of each of these languages.

Also Maharshi Badarayan Vyas Samman will also be given to 5 awardees with a cash grant of Rs. 1 lakh each.

The Scheme also provides for One International Award of certificate of honour to a Non-resident Indian or person of non-Indian origin with outstanding contributions in the field of Sanskrit and two International Awards (one each for person of Indian and Non-Indian Origin) in each languages mentioned above.

High commission of India invites Nominations of distinguished scholars in the languages of Sanskrit, Pali, Prakrit, Arabic, Persian, Classical Oriya, Classical Kannada, Classical Kannada, Classical Telugu and Classical Malayalam. Last date of sending Nominations is 15th April 2019.
