Important Announcement

Consequent upon discontinuation of the Persons of Indian Origin Scheme (PIO), all PIO card holders were required to convert the same to Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cards.

2.    The last date of conversion of PIO cards to OCI cards is 30 June 2016.

3.    All PIO card holders are therefore advised to apply for the conversion of their PIO cards to OCI cards well in time to enable completion of the conversion process by the date given. 

4.    While applying for conversion of PIO cards to OCI cards, the following documents may be submitted:

(i)   A copy of valid PIO card and
(ii)  A copy of current valid passport.
