REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS: Birth of a child should be registered with the High Commission within one year from date of birth. For more details, please visit Ministry of Home Affairs website www.mha.nic.in.
Attestation of Documents:
The High Commission also performs functions like attestation of academic certificates, diplomas, marriage and birth certificates issues in India, power of attorney and other such documents executed by Indian citizens in India.
All certificates submitted to the High Commission of India, Nicosia should therefore be first attested in India, by the agencies detailed below:
| i)School Certificates : | Concerned State Board of Secondary Education |
| ii) Diploma/Vocational Training Certificates/Experience Certificates/Marriage Certificates/Birth or Death Certificates etc. : | Authorised Officer of the Home Affairs of the State where the institution which issued the certificate is situated. |

For attestation of the documents, presence of the applicant along with his/her Indian passport is mandatory.
