The event was inaugurated by Maldivian Health Minister Iruthisham Adam and Indian High Commissioner to Maldives Akilesh Mishra.

During the inauguration ceremony, Minister Iruthisham noted the assistance provided by India to develop and improve Maldivian health sector, and expressed gratitude for the assistance.

Mishra said that health sector was the focal point of the close relationship between India and Maldives, and that Indian government was dedicated to remain steadfast in providing assistance to Maldives in that area.

Mishra noted the achievements made by Indian health sector and the fact that thousands of doctors are trained by the country each year.

He said that it was a pleasure to share the knowledge and expertise of Indian doctors with the rest of the world.

Mishra said that health sector was one area that every country continuously worked on improving, and that no country could provide perfect health services.
