Chief of Defense Force of Maldives, Major General Ahmed Shiyam, who is currently on an official visit to India, has met with Chief of Naval Staff of India Admiral Robin Kumar Dhowan.
During the meeting held at Visakhapatnam Eastern Naval Command on Sunday morning, the two officers talked about the strong diplomatic ties between the two countries, and discussed ways to improve military ties.
Shiyam noted the huge help provided by Indian government in training Maldivian officers, and thanked the Indian government for it.
Shiyam joined Dhowan for breakfast and signed the guestbook of Visakhapatnam Eastern Naval Command.
Shiyam is in India to join the biggest fleet review in history of Indian Navy, which started on February 4, and will continue until February 8.
