President’s Office has confirmed that President Abdulla Yameen will meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister SushmaSwaraj during the two day official visit to New Delhi, India.
The president is scheduled to depart to India on Sunday, April 10, 2016.
He is to be accompanied by Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon, Minister for Fisheries and Agriculture Mohamed Shainee and three parliament members.
In addition to PM Modi and the External Affairs minister, the President will meet his Indian counterpart, Pranab Mukherjee.
Last year marked the 50th anniversary since diplomatic ties were established between Maldives and India. India was the third country to establish diplomatic ties with Maldives.
President Abdulla Yameen, on his maiden international visit on assuming office, travelled to India in January 2014.
