Indian High Commissioner made farewell call on the President of Maldives, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom - Miadhu News, 28 Dec 2015

High Commissioner of India Rajeev Shahare made a farewell call on President H. E Abdulla Yameen today (December 28, 2015).
During his meeting, High Commissioner Shahare said that it was a matter of great honour and privilege to serve as India’s high Commissioner in the close and friendly neighbouring country of Maldives. He also said that the high point of his tenure was the Golden Jubilee celebration of India-Maldives diplomatic ties, which also coincided with Maldives observing its fifty years of independence.

He thanked H. E Abdulla Yameen for his “India First” policy and endorsing Prime Minister of India’s “Neighbourhood Fist” policy. It was noted that the close and friendly relationship between India and Maldives witnessed further deepening of ties during the tenure of High Commissioner Shahare.
High Commissioner Rajeev Shahare arrived in Maldives on April 4, 2013. After a successful tenure in Maldives, he has been posted as India’s Ambassador to Denmark. Govt of India has appointed ShriAkhilesh Mishra as the new High Commissioner of India to Maldives. He is expected to join shortly in early January.
