India and Maldives would be celebrating the Golden Jubilee anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries in 2015. In this regard, the High Commission is planning a series of events to commemorate this landmark occasion of the bilateral relationship. The celebrations are inaugurated in January 2015 through a festival on theme Bollywood titled “Love for Bollywood”. The following are the events of the festival.

The Bollywood Quiz will be open for all Maldivians, who will have to answer 25 simple questions about the Bollywood Film Industry. The winners of quiz would get a free trip to Mumbai, the home of Bollywood.
Three of Bollywood’s finest, biggest and classic blockbusters - 3 Idiots, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and Sholay - would be screened at the Olympus Theatre in Male on January 20, 21 and 22. During the festival, two award winning Dhivehi films - Ingili and Hulhudhann – would also be screened.
The Indian cultural night would showcase a dance show by an Indian dance group Ferris Wheel Entertainment. The dance production is divided into 3 segments comprising dances that typify India:
Glitzy costumes, spectacular lighting and peppy, foot tapping numbers are the highlights of this show. However, the most spectacular feature of this show is its powerful dancers. All of them are professional Bollywood dancers and most of them have worked in the Bollywood industry.
“Cultural Confluence-United Colours” is an exhibition of collection of art works of 36 bright young artists from SAARC countries, including three from Maldives and 15 from India.
This festival would be followed by regular events like cultural events, seminar & workshops, competitions, exhibitions, medical camps etc throughout the year every month.
