PR 21st batch CSC to NCGG under MoU
On 11 Feb 2023, 21st batch of Maldivian civil servants went to National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), New Delhi.
A group of 26 Senior Civil Servants are scheduled to attend the customised “Capacity Building Programme in the Field of Administration from 13-18 February, 2023 conducted by the NCGG.
The group is mainly comprised of senior civil servants from various atolls and islands. The civil servants at NCGG will have interactive sessions by experts on topics like India-Maldives relationship, Public policy and implementation, Solid Wast Mgt., Environment Impact Assessment, Anti-Corruption strategies, Inclusive Development, Gender and Development, SDGs, Health care facilities in remote areas, Digital governance, Skill Development, Citizen centric governance, apart from visit to PradhanMantri Sangrahalaya and Taj Mahal.
The MoU between CSC and NCGG was signed in June 2019 during the State Visit of PM Narendra Modi to the Maldives. With 21st batch, more than 640 Maldivian civil servants would undergone training under this MoU. The total target is training of 1000 civil servants in 05 years.
During recent visit of Director General NCGG led delegation, a review meeting was held with President and members of CSC. Discussions were held on offering customized training programmes in areas like e-governance, Digitization, project mgt., etc. besides offering on-site training programmes. Both NCGG and CSC are working in this direction.
The partnership between India and Maldives is truely multifaceted. Collaboration in the area of training and capacity building is a key pillar of this partnership. A large no. of capacity building opportunities are being offered under various bilateral MoUs and GoI's ITEC & other schemes like ICCR fellowship, etc.
