Visit of Ugandan Parliamentary Commission to India July 12, 2019

A 6 member delegation of Parliamentary Commission of Uganda led by Hon’ble Cecilia Atim Ogwal Barbara, Parliamentary Commissioner visited India on a benchmarking visit and met with the Rajya Sabha Parliamentary Committee on Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) on July 12, 2019.

The delegation was received by Hon’ble Vice Chairman of Rajya Sabha, Shri Harivansh who is also the Chairman of the Committee of Rajya Sabha on MPLADS.

During the meeting a power point presentation was made by the Secretary, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Shri Pravin Srivastava, followed by the questions and answer session during which the delegation enquired and exchanged views on the framework, administrative and legislative mandate of the Scheme, challenges faced by the Committee in its implementation, etc.

The meeting was concluded with the delegation thanking profusely the Committee to receive them at short notice and for providing insight into the various aspects of functioning of MPLADS.
