ICCR Scholarship Scheme For Studies In India For The Academic Year 2021-22 (Uganda)

High Commission of India, Kampala invites applications from Ugandan Nationals for admission in Undergraduate (Bachelors), Post Graduate (Masters) and PhDs under “Africa Scholarship Scheme” for the Academic Year 2021-22.

Application process is completely online at A2A Scholarship Portal (http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/ External website that opens in a new window) which is open upto 30th April 2021.

Salient Features

  • 35 slots for Ugandan Nationals.
  • Opportunities to take admission for Undergraduate/Postgraduate/PhD courses at 150        reputed Indian Universities /Institutes [rank between 1 to 150 by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) and rating A & above by National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC)].
  • Registration and application process is free of charge.
  • Aspiring students have option to choose 5 Universities/Institutes in order of their preference of study.
  • Applications will directly be sent by students to respective Universities.
  • Return air tickets for selected students.
  • Living Allowance (stipend) per month for selected scholars during course.

 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must have Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with over 50% pass marks.
  • Applicants must have knowledge of writing, reading and speaking English Language.
  • For BE / B. Tech courses, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) are compulsory in Advanced Level grades and it is a mandatory requirement for Engineering courses.

 

Age Limit:

The age required for applicants is between 18 years to 30 years at the time of admission in Indian Universities/Institutes.

Instructions for filling application form:

  • Registered candidate can login into their account on the A2A Scholarship Portal with their registered credentials to start applying on the A2A Portal.
  • Applicants should visit participating University/Institute websites and do thorough research of courses offered, eligibility criteria and general information about the university/institute before applying for admission. The students should ensure that they are eligible for the course and meet eligibility criteria and submit relevant documentation as required by the University.
  • Applications will directly be sent by students to respective Universities. Applicants will have the option to apply upto five (Nos. 5) Universities/Institutes in order of their preference of study.
  • While applying, Mark sheets for each i.e. Ordinary Level and Advanced Level academic documents should be uploaded alongwith the transcripts in English. The application will not be considered without English translation of documents if the original documents are not in English.
  • Submission of incorrect information by the candidate may result in forfeiture of the admission/scholarship at any stage.
  • English Essay/test will be conducted to ascertain English Proficiency. Besides, students can also submit their TOFEL/IELTS etc. Standardised Test scores, if available. Interview can be conducted online by the Universities/Institutes, if required
  • The last date of submission of online application is 30 April 2021 (Friday).  Offer Letter will be  issued to selected students by the High Commission of India, Kampala in 1st / 2nd week of July 2021 tentatively.
