Gandhi Jayanti in Nicosia
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated and the International Day of Non-Violence commemorated by the High Commission of India, Nicosia, on Friday 2 October 2015 at 9 am at the bust of Mahatma Gandhi, next to the House of Representatives, Nicosia Municipal Gardens, Nehru Street, Nicosia. Floral tributes were paid by H.E. Mr. George Vasiliou, former President of the Republic of Cyprus and H.E. Mr. Ravi Bangar, High Commissioner. The function concluded with the playing of a Gandhiji's favourite Bhajan (devotional song) and followed by a reception.
