Pan-African E-Network Project

ThePan-Africa E-network is among the finest examples of India’scontribution to the capacity enhancement of Africa. India, in a jointinitiative with the African Union, has launched the Pan-Africane-network project which seeks to provide tele-education, telemedicine,e-commerce, e-governance, infotainment, resource-mapping andmeteorological services to the citizens of African nations.

Underthis project, tele-education centres have been set up at MakerereUniversity in Kampala, Uganda; Kigali Institute of Education in Kigali,Rwanda and University of Burundi in Bujumbura, Burundi andtele-medicine centres have been set up at Mulago Hospital in Kampala,Uganda; King Faisal Hospital in Kigali, Rwanda and King Faisal KhaledHospital in Bujumbura, Burundi
